Skin Cancer Screenings
Although skin cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers, it is also one of the most treatable if caught early. Getting screened for skin cancer on a regular basis with Dr. Yoo is a proactive method to keep your skin healthy by treating potential concerns before they become serious. Our goal is to give you peace of mind through a professional, comprehensive examination, whether you are due for an annual check-up or have observed a particular area that worries you.

Comprehensive Review
We start by outlining your medical history, any skin cancer in your family, and any specific areas that you've noticed changing.
Head-to-Toe Examination
For privacy, you will receive a gown. Dr. Yoo thoroughly examines every part of your skin, from scalp to toes, including areas not usually exposed to the sun.
Dermoscopy
For suspicious lesions, Dr. Yoo uses a dermatoscope, a specialized handheld magnifier, to view structures beneath the skin's surface.
Next Steps
If a questionable area is discovered, Dr. Yoo can suggest cryotherapy (freezing), biopsy (a small sample collected for testing), or regular observation.
Mole/Lesion removal procedures are typically performed using local anesthesia. This numbs the treatment area so patients remain comfortable during the procedure.
Patients can return to daily activities shortly after removal. Healing time depends on the exact technique used. Healing can take anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks, while scaring will fade for several months. Proper aftercare instructions help support smooth healing and minimize scarring.
We recommend the "ABCDE" rule for moles: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter larger than a pencil eraser, and Evolution (changing) size, shape, or symptoms like itching or bleeding.
