Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using thin needles. The procedure can help reduce the appearance of skin concerns such as acne scars, stretch marks or wrinkles. We can help improve overall skin texture and create a more youthful appearance. This treatment can be utilized for cosmetic purposes, but it can treat some medical conditions.

Improves Scars
Microneedling can restore acne scars, stretch marks as well as surgery or injuries scars. Microneedling helps by stimulating collagen and creating smooth skin.
Reverses Sun Damage
Microneedling stimulates the growth of collagen, which helps with the premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and skin texture that comes with sun exposure.
Anti-Aging
Lines, wrinkles, discoloration, and loss of elasticity are a part of aging. Microneedling helps boost elastin and collagen production and causes your body to produce new skin cells which promotes anti-aging.
Improves Skin Texture
This treatment prompts your skin to heal and rebuild itself with new collagen fibers. This gradually smooths out the top layer of your skin and reduces the appearance of texture irregularities.
Before the procedure, you may need to stop taking certain medications, such as ibuprofen and those for acne treatment.
We may also recommend avoiding using agents that may increase your skin’s sensitivity before your appointment. This may include topical retinoids and exfoliants.
Results may vary based on the severity of the skin concern, its location, and the treatment plan used. Dr. Yoo may recommend multiple treatment sessions. Your skin may continue increased collagen production for 3 to 6 months after treatment.
We will begin by applying a numbing cream or ointment, such as lidocaine gel. You might feel warmth or a scratching sensation on your face during the procedure. Some people feel discomfort if the needles are near bony areas. Deep microneedling might cause a little bleeding.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure with low recovery time. In the weeks after treatment, you might notice that your skin burns or feels tight. Some patients also have dry, flaking skin that improves with moisturizer. It can take a few weeks to months to see results. Avoid applying makeup, avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen, and it may be recommended to wait a week before exposing your skin to sunlight or harsh chemicals.
